Starting the Game

Games can be created by pressing the button labeled "Create Game." Once this is done, the creator must input their desired username and they will join the newly created game. While the game has not started, anyone can join if they press "Join Game" in the menu, input the game code, and input their desired username. To start the game, there must be at least five players and somebody must type the command !start. When this is done, the moderator will privately tell all players their role. If you want to play but can't get enough people you know to play, make the game public! Use the command !public true to make the game code be shown in the menu screen by anyone playing. This can always be turned off with the command !public false.

Daytime

A game is split into daytime and nighttime, both phases lasting four minutes each. During the day messages can be read or sent by any player, and even the automated moderator. Daytime is for questioning players and putting information together to figure out who a werewolf is and lynching them. See the Commands section on this page to learn how to lynch.

Nighttime

During the night, players with special abilities, such as werewolves, have the opportunity to use their abilities. For example, werewolves can choose their victim. Additionally, werewolves can communicate privately with each other through the chat.

Commands

Additional to the commands granted to you at night by your role, you can type the global commands (shown below) in the chat to use them. Some commands have parameters. For example, the command !vote (username) has the parameter username. This parameter should be replaced with the username of a living player in the game. For example, !vote ArjhanToteck would vote for a player named "ArjhanToteck".

  • !help: when this command is sent in the chat, the moderator will respond with links for several helpful pages.
  • !players (type): when this command is sent in the chat, the moderator will respond with a list of players in the game. If the parameter (type) is equal to alive, the list will only include living players. If it's equal to dead, the list will only include dead players. If the message is sent as !players (without a parameter), the list will include all players.
  • !start: this command is used to start the game and can only be used if the game has not started.
  • !vote (username): this command is used to vote on who to lynch. The parameter (username) must be replaced with the username of any living player in the game. This command can only be used by living players during the day. Also, the game must be started and it can't be the first day.
  • !votes: this command will show you the list of everyone who is being voted for lynching and who voted for them.
  • Private Messages

If you are of the village faction, any messages sent at night will only be seen by the automated moderator. This is so that you can use commands at night that nobody else will be able to see. If you are a werewolf, any messages sent at night will be visible to the moderator and the other wolves. If you are dead, all messages will be visible to only other dead players. Note that a private message is red, as opposed to white, and will say who it is visible to next to right next to the name of the person who sent it. For example:

ArjhanToteck (to the wolves) (8/22/20, 10:55 PM UTC)
This message can only be seen by other wolves.

    Ending the Game

The game ends when either the werewolves outnumber the villagers, resulting in a victory for the werewolves, or all werewolves have been lynched, resulting in a victory for the villagers.
